In plain language: Tekton does not sell your data or use it for advertising. Your working fitness data is stored on your iPhone, authenticated recovery copies are stored in the cloud, and relevant context is sent to AI providers only when you use an AI feature.
1. Who we are
Tekton (also styled “Tektōn,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is an independent fitness-software project based in California, United States. Questions and privacy requests can be sent to privacy@tekton.fit.
2. Information we process
Account and authentication information
When you use Sign in with Apple, we receive an Apple account identifier and, if you choose to share it, your name and relay or email address. We store account identifiers, authentication records, consent settings, and security information needed to operate your account.
Fitness, nutrition, wellness, and app content
You may create or record workouts, exercises, performance data, meals, macro estimates, recipes, habits, goals, body measurements, condition check-ins, coaching preferences, notes, memories, and related activity. The working copy is stored on your device. Authenticated recovery snapshots containing this content are uploaded to our cloud service when backup runs.
Connected WHOOP information
If you choose to connect WHOOP, we request the scopes needed to read recovery, sleep, workouts, cycles, strain, and body measurements. We store encrypted authorization tokens so the connection can function. WHOOP data fetched for current guidance is generally processed temporarily; relevant WHOOP context may be included in an AI request when you enable the corresponding consent control and invoke an AI feature.
AI requests and generated content
When you ask Tekton to generate or analyze a workout, meal, recipe, coaching response, or similar feature, we send your request and relevant app context to Anthropic. Depending on the feature, context may include recent training, preferences, available equipment, injuries or limitations you entered, nutrition information, and authorized WHOOP data. Generated responses may be stored on your device and therefore included in cloud recovery snapshots.
Technical and operational information
Our servers process IP addresses, request identifiers, timestamps, route and response status, token-usage counts, performance measurements, and diagnostic errors. We configure error reporting to remove request bodies, headers, breadcrumbs, and user content before reporting server errors. Apple and your device may separately process diagnostic information under your Apple privacy settings.
Pilot interest information
If you request pilot access on our website, we collect your name, email address, and any optional description you provide. We use this information only to evaluate your request, contact you about Tekton, manage pilot invitations, and prevent duplicate or abusive submissions.
3. How we use information
- Provide authentication, syncing, backup, recovery, export, and deletion.
- Generate requested workouts, nutrition estimates, recipes, and coaching responses.
- Personalize recommendations using preferences and history you provide.
- Connect to WHOOP when you authorize that integration.
- Secure, debug, monitor, and improve the pilot.
- Enforce usage limits and prevent abuse.
- Comply with applicable law and protect participants and the service.
4. Service providers and sharing
We share information only as needed to operate Tekton, respond to your request, protect the service, or comply with law. Our primary providers are:
- Apple: Sign in with Apple, app distribution, and platform services.
- Supabase: authenticated database storage, including account records and recovery snapshots.
- Heroku: backend application hosting and request processing.
- Anthropic: processing prompts and relevant context for AI-powered features.
- WHOOP: connected wearable data that you authorize through WHOOP.
- Sentry: scrubbed server error and reliability reporting when enabled.
These providers process information under their own terms and privacy commitments. We do not sell personal information, share it with data brokers, serve behavioral advertising, or track you across other companies’ apps and websites.
5. Storage and retention
Device data remains until you delete it, delete the app, restore another snapshot, or use account-deletion controls. Tekton retains at most the 35 most recent cloud recovery snapshots per account and automatically removes older snapshots. Account, authentication, connection, and AI-usage records are retained while your account is active and are removed when account deletion completes, except for limited records that must be retained temporarily for security, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, legal compliance, or in provider backups and operational logs that expire under provider retention schedules.
6. Your choices and controls
- Export: download your cloud account data from Account & Privacy in the app.
- Delete: permanently delete your Tekton account and associated cloud records from Account & Privacy.
- WHOOP: disconnect WHOOP in the app. Tekton removes its stored connection and attempts to revoke access with WHOOP.
- AI and WHOOP: disable the consent control for using WHOOP context in AI coaching.
- Withdraw from the pilot: stop using the app and delete your account.
You may also contact privacy@tekton.fit for access, correction, deletion, or privacy questions. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.
7. Security
Tekton uses authenticated requests, encrypted network connections, platform keychain storage, access controls, encrypted WHOOP tokens, and database security policies. No service can guarantee absolute security, and the pilot may contain defects.
8. International processing
Our providers may process information in the United States and other locations where they operate. Those locations may have different data-protection laws than your home jurisdiction.
9. Children
Tekton’s pilot is not directed to children under 18. Please do not participate or provide personal information if you are under 18.
10. Health and medical information
Tekton provides general fitness and wellness information. It is not a healthcare provider, medical device, or emergency service, and it does not diagnose or treat medical conditions. Do not enter information you do not want processed as described in this policy.
11. Changes
We may update this policy as the pilot changes. We will update the effective date and provide additional notice in the app when a change materially affects how participant data is handled.
